The Nationwide Museum of Cambodia in Phnom Penh is an unlimited advanced. The crimson buildings with indirect roofs curve upwards on the ends of their triangles like naga with a flourish, and the tall finials that adorn these roofs rise like elegant peaks.

Constructed between 1917 and 1924, the museum was formally inaugurated in 1920, and reopened after renovation in 1979 with the autumn of the Khmer Rouge.

Inside, a large Garuda welcomes guests, and on both facet the corridor stretches out into two wings. One is the gallery of the Buddhas: a four-cornered room arrange like a shrine. Quite a few in quantity and types, and gorgeous, the statues are organized to evoke a serene and meditative ambiance.
